Navy awards $50M IaaS contract to ViON
To help the Navy more accurately scale up and scale down its IT infrastructure to meet evolving mission requirements the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command has awarded a $50 million indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract for IT infrastructure capacity through an as-a-service model to ViON Corp. of Herndon, Va.

To avoid overbuying of IT equipment to meet an expectation of future requirements, the contract will be a pay-as-you-go acquisition model, with no upfront costs.
The majority of the work will be conducted in Charleston, S.C., and San Diego.
