Salesforce Government Cloud gets DISA IL4 authorization
- By Gov Cloud Insider Staff
The Salesforce Government Cloud has been granted a provisional authorization at Impact Level 4 by the Defense Information Systems Agency. The IL4 provisional authorization will allow defense agencies and contractors to use the Salesforce Government Cloud to manage Controlled Unclassified Information, including personal identifiable information and protected health Information.
Salesforce secured a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program authority to operate for both its software as a service and platform as a service models in May 2014. That moderate-baseline ATO was granted for the Salesforce Government Cloud by HHS, which subsequently issued a blanket purchasing agreement in March 2016 to give its divisions cost-efficient access to the Salesforce Government Cloud.
The Salesforce Government Cloud is used by nearly two dozen agencies including the Departments of Agriculture, Justice and Veterans Affairs.
